Description
Plastic model aircraft kit: Hawker Tempest Mk.V 1:72 Smer 0848
The Hawker Tempest Mk.V was one of the most powerful British fighters of World War II. It was developed as an evolution of the Hawker Typhoon design, incorporating a thinner, elliptically contoured wing section, which significantly improved high-altitude performance. The prototype first flew in February 1943, achieving an impressive speed of 750 km/h. These aircraft entered RAF service in April 1944 and became famous primarily as an extremely effective weapon against German V-1 flying bombs and as machines capable of engaging in equal combat with the jet-powered Messerschmitt Me-262s.
