Description
Plastic model aircraft kit: Hawker Typhoon Mk. IB "Car Door" 1942 1:48 Hobby 2000 48042
Plastic model of the British fighter-bomber Hawker Typhoon Mk. IB in the early "Car Door" cockpit version (with car-like entry doors). The kit is prepared by the Polish brand Hobby 2000 in 1:48 scale, based on proven sprues with new, high-quality decals.
The Hawker Typhoon was one of the most powerful single-engine fighters of World War II. Although it initially struggled with teething problems, including failures of the Napier Sabre engines and tail strength, it eventually became a lethally effective ground-attack machine, sowing terror among German armored and transport troops in Western Europe.
Available painting schemes:- Hawker Typhoon Mk.Ib, Duxford Wing R7698/Z-Z (W/C Dennys E. Gillam), September 1942, RAF Duxford
- Hawker Typhoon Mk.Ib, No. 182 Sqn. R8893/XM-M, November 1942, RAF Martlesham Heath
- Hawker Typhoon Mk.Ib, No. 486 (NZ) Sqn. R8697/SA-Z, August 1942, RAF Wittering
- Hawker Typhoon Mk.Ib, No. 56 Sqn. R8224/US-H (F/O C.T. Stimpson), 1942, RAF Matlaske
The kit features precise reproduction of panel lines and cockpit details characteristic of the early 1942 production version.
Kit for self-assembly and painting. Does not include paints or glue. For assembly, separately sold modeling tools are required (including nippers, files, tweezers), paints, brushes, and plastic model glue (e.g., Tamiya Extra Thin Cement). The photo shows a professionally assembled and painted model.
