The Hawker Typhoon Mk.IB was one of the most effective RAF ground-attack aircraft of World War II. Originally designed as an interceptor, thanks to its robust construction and powerful engine, it proved excellent in the role of a close-support machine. From 1943, these aircraft were intensively used for attacks on ground targets, destroying German armored vehicles and fortifications, which was crucial during the Normandy landings and subsequent operations in Western Europe.
