Description
Plastic model airplane for assembly: He 111Z-1 Zwilling 1:48 ICM 48260
German glider tug from World War II
In the early 1930s, the concept of a fast bomber that could surpass contemporary fighters emerged worldwide. One realization of this concept was the twin-engine bomber He 111 designed by the German company Heinkel Flugzeugwerke AG.
From May 1941, He 111H-6 aircraft were produced with liquid-cooled Jumo 211F-2 engines of increased power, wider wooden VS 11 propellers, and more powerful armament. The He 111H-6 was the most frequently produced variant of Heinkel's medium bomber.
Heinkel He 111Z-1 Zwilling (Gemini) - two He 111H-6s connected by a new wing section, on which a fifth engine was mounted. It was designed to tow the Me 321 or two Go 242 gliders. By the end of spring 1942, 12 aircraft were built. The He 111Z-1 mainly served on the Eastern Front as glider tugs and transport aircraft.
Kit for self-assembly and painting. Does not include paints or glue. For assembly, separately sold modeling tools are needed (including cutters, files, tweezers), paints, brushes, and plastic model glue (e.g., Tamiya Extra Thin Cement). The photo shows a professionally assembled and painted model.
