Original He 177A-5 airplane:

The He 177A-5 is a version of the He 177 bomber, which was the only heavy bomber mass-produced by Germany during World War II. Its history dates back to the late 1930s, but it entered service with the Luftwaffe only in 1942. This delay was due to the low priority that the German military assigned to the development of heavy bombers.

The He 177A-5 was the last and main production version of the He 177 series and is also considered the best version of this model. This aircraft was equipped with two Daimler DB610 engines, each consisting of two DB605 engines, mounted under each wing. Thanks to the advanced aviation technologies used in the He 177A-5, this aircraft could carry the Fritz X glide bomb, which was radio-controlled, significantly increasing its combat effectiveness.

The He 177A-5 also had advanced armament, including one manned turret and one remotely controlled turret, as well as four machine guns. These features made it a powerful tool in the Luftwaffe's arsenal.
