About the HH-60G "Pave Hawk" helicopter:
The HH-60G "Pave Hawk" is a four-blade, twin-engine, medium military helicopter that is a modification of the well-known UH-60 Black Hawk. It was designed to perform rescue missions in combat conditions, but its versatility also allows for participation in humanitarian and rescue operations in peacetime. This helicopter is part of the Sikorsky S-70 family and is equipped with advanced PAVE (Precision Avionics Vectoring Equipment) electronic systems.
The HH-60G "Pave Hawk" is primarily used for personnel recovery in combat conditions, including search and rescue operations. It can operate both day and night, in difficult and dangerous conditions. Due to its versatility, this helicopter is also used for rescue operations in peacetime, such as civil search and rescue, medical evacuations, disaster relief, international humanitarian assistance, and anti-drug operations.
Operational history:
The HH-60G "Pave Hawk" has participated in many military and humanitarian operations around the world. During Operation Desert Storm, it provided search and rescue coverage for coalition forces in Iraq, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait. In Operation Allied Force, it provided continuous search and rescue coverage for NATO forces and recovered two USAF pilots behind enemy lines. These helicopters were also involved in humanitarian operations, such as assisting tsunami victims in Sri Lanka in 2005 and rescuing individuals affected by Hurricane Katrina.
