HMS Belfast is one of the most recognizable ships of the Royal Navy, belonging to the third batch of Town-class cruisers. This unit played a key role during World War II, taking part in the Battle of the North Cape, where it contributed to the sinking of the German battleship Scharnhorst. The ship also actively supported the Allied landings in Normandy during D-Day and escorted Arctic convoys. After the war, HMS Belfast served, among others, in the Korean War, and currently serves as a museum ship, moored on the Thames in London.

The plastic model from Airfix in 1:600 scale is a detailed replica of this legendary cruiser. The set comes from the Vintage Classics series and allows for building the model in its wartime configuration.
