History and use of Hs 126: The Henschel Hs 126 was a two-seat reconnaissance and observation aircraft designed by the German manufacturer Henschel Flugzeugwerke. This aircraft, designed by engineer Fr. Nicolaus, first took to the air in early 1937. It was characterized by excellent flight properties at low speeds and a short takeoff run, making it extremely useful in operational activities.
In 1938, seven Hs 126A-1 aircraft with BMW 132Dc engines were delivered to the reconnaissance squadron A/88 of the German Legion Condor in Spain. These aircraft were equipped with bomb racks capable of carrying 250 kg bombs, which increased their combat versatility.
