Description
Israeli Air Force Paint Set (Early Period) 6x17ml Hataka HTK-CS34
Acrylic paint set from the Orange Line series (based on lacquer), designed for painting aircraft of the Israeli Air Force during their early operational period, covering the years 1948–1967.
In the early years of independence, the Israeli aviation used various camouflage schemes. Initially, undefined shades of green and brown were used, which over time were supplemented with standard colors of the British RAF (used, among others, on Spitfire aircraft) and a finish in natural metal color (Mustang, Mosquito). In 1955, a new standard camouflage was introduced consisting of Grey-Blue and Medium Brown on the upper surfaces and Silk Grey on the lower surfaces, which was in effect until 1967.
The set includes 6 bottles of 17ml each:
- HTK-C170 Reed Green (RAL 6013) - color used on Avia S-199 aircraft, the first IAF fighters.
- HTK-C171 Grey-Blue (RAL 5008) - used on upper surfaces in the standard camouflage from 1955-67.
- HTK-C172 Medium Brown (FS30215) - used on upper surfaces in the standard camouflage from 1955-67.
- HTK-C173 Silk Grey (RAL 7044) - used on lower surfaces in the standard camouflage from 1955-67.
- HTK-C030 European I Grey (FS36081) - color of the lower surfaces of Gloster Meteor NF-13 aircraft.
- HTK-C078 Aluminium - standard color of early P-51D and Mosquito and later color of interceptor fighters.
