Description
Israeli Defence Forces AFV Paint Set 6x17ml Hataka HTK-AS114
Acrylic paint set from the Red Line series, optimized for airbrush painting, containing standard colors of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) vehicles used since the 1950s.
The Israel Defense Forces were formed in 1948 and participated in numerous armed conflicts, such as the Suez Crisis (1956), the Six-Day War (1967), and the Yom Kippur War (1973). In the early period, the IDF used M4 Sherman, AMX-13, and Centurion tanks, painted in Olive Drab color. Over time, with the delivery of equipment from the USA (M48, M60, M113) and the development of their own designs, such as Merkava, unique shades of sand-gray, known as Sinai Grey, were introduced.
A characteristic feature of the Israeli Sinai Grey paint is its optical variability depending on lighting and surroundings. In reality, there were many shades of this paint, and the final appearance of the vehicle often depended on the unit and the specific operational area.
The set includes 6 bottles of 17ml:- HTK-A018 US Olive Drab - standard color of IDF vehicles in the 1950s.
- HTK-A244 IDF Sand Grey 61* - used in the 1960s, including during the Six-Day War.
- HTK-A258 IDF Sand Grey 73* - standard color from the 1970s, used during the Yom Kippur War.
- HTK-A248 IDF Sinai Grey 82* - shade used since the early 1980s, including on early versions of Merkava.
- HTK-A243 IDF Sinai Grey 87* - contemporary shade used since 1987 on Merkava Mk III and IV tanks.
- HTK-A239 Seafoam Green - color used for painting the interiors of armored personnel carriers and IDF vehicles.
