Plastic model kit: Set of Japanese carrier-based aircraft (late war period) 1:700 Fujimi 433325
This plastic model kit depicts Japanese carrier aviation from the late period of World War II in 1:700 scale. The set includes precisely reproduced miniatures of aircraft that operated from the decks of the Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN) aircraft carriers.
The set includes the following types of aircraft:
- Mitsubishi A7M Reppu - 6 pcs.
- Yokosuka D4Y3 Suisei (Judy) Model 33 - 2 pcs.
- Aichi B7A Ryusei (Grace) - 4 pcs.
- Nakajima C6N1 Saiun (Myrt) - 4 pcs.
- Yokosuka MXY7 Ohka - 4 pcs.
Historical background:
In the later stages of the war in the Pacific, the Japanese navy sought to introduce modern designs to replace the worn-out Zero and Kate aircraft. The Mitsubishi A7M Reppu was intended to be the successor to the famous Zeke, offering significantly better performance; however, engine problems delayed its entry into service. Meanwhile, the Yokosuka MXY7 Ohka was a unique, rocket-powered aircraft designed for kamikaze suicide attacks, carried under the fuselages of G4M Betty bombers.
Recommended paint colors from Mr. Hobby (GSI Creos):
- H1 / 1 - White
- H8 / 8 - Silver
- H12 / 33 - Matte Black
- H15 / 15 - Dark Green (IJN Green)
- H47 / 41 - Red-Brown
- H61 / 35 - Light Gray (IJN Gray)
- 124 - Dark Green (Mitsubishi)
