History and design of the Junkers Ju EF-126 / EF-127: Junkers EF-126 and EF-127 were experimental fighter projects that were to respond to the urgent needs of the Luftwaffe in the final phase of World War II. The aircraft was to be armed with two MG 151 mm cannons on either side of the cockpit, similar to the He162 Salamander. Initially, it was planned to use one Argus As 014 pulse engine, but it quickly became apparent that such a configuration was insufficient. Various alternative propulsion options were considered, including a dual Argus As 014 setup, a Walther 509C rocket engine, and a single Jumo 226 pulse engine.

The aircraft's design involved the use of wood for the lifting surfaces and aluminum for the fuselage and key structural elements. Four Schmidding auxiliary rockets were arranged around the rear part of the fuselage, allowing for take-off from a wheeled trolley. Landing was facilitated by retractable skids and fixed protective skids at the ends of the wings.
