Plastic model kit: Kagero-class Destroyer Kagero 1:350 Fujimi 460994
This plastic model of the Japanese destroyer Kagero is a leading unit of its type from World War II. Kagero was a modern destroyer that entered service in 1939, characterized by strong torpedo and artillery armament and excellent seaworthiness. The unit participated in the most important operations in the Pacific, including the escort of aircraft carriers during the attack on Pearl Harbor and in the battles of Midway and near the Santa Cruz Islands.
- Detailed representation of the hull and superstructure of the Kagero-class destroyer.
- The set includes a sheet with 14 names of ships of the same type in the form of stickers and decals, allowing for the construction of various units of this class.
- Model from the "Fune Next" series, designed to facilitate assembly.
- Faithful representation of armament, including 127 mm main artillery turrets and torpedo launchers.
Kagero was the first of 19 destroyers of its type. The design was created without treaty restrictions, allowing for the construction of ships with a displacement of 2600 tons, achieving a speed of 35 knots. Kagero participated in intense fighting in the Solomon Islands and Guadalcanal. It sank on May 8, 1943, after hitting a mine near Rendova Island.
Assembly and painting kit. Does not include paints or glue. For assembly, separately sold modeling tools are needed (including cutters, files, tweezers), paints, brushes, and plastic model glue (e.g. Tamiya Extra Thin Cement). The photo shows a professionally assembled and painted model.
