Description
Plastic aircraft model for assembly: Kawasaki Ki100-I Koh TYPE 5 FIGHTER (TONY) 1:48 Hasegawa 07556
A plastic model for assembly depicting the Japanese fighter from World War II - Kawasaki Ki100-I Koh Type 5 Fighter (Tony). This is a limited edition focusing on machines from the 111th Flight Regiment.
The Kawasaki Ki-100 was one of the best Japanese interceptor fighters at the end of the war. It was created as a result of a desperate but brilliant modification of the Ki-61-II KAI airframe, where, due to a shortage of liquid-cooled inline engines, it was decided to install a Mitsubishi Ha-112-II radial engine. The result was an aircraft with excellent handling characteristics and high reliability, capable of engaging in an equal fight with the latest Allied designs such as the P-51D Mustang or F6F Hellcat.
Set specifications:
- Scale: 1:48
- Manufacturer: Hasegawa
- Catalog number: 07556
- Model type: Propeller-driven fighter
- Markings: 111th Flight Regiment
- New decals included
The model features the high quality of workmanship typical of Hasegawa, with precisely rendered panel lines and cockpit details. The Koh version (Type I) had a traditional canopy transitioning into the fuselage, which distinguished it from the later Otsu version with a bubble canopy.
Set for self-assembly and painting. Does not include paints or glue. To assemble, you will need separately sold modeling tools (including nippers, files, tweezers), paints, brushes, and plastic model glue (e.g., Tamiya Extra Thin Cement). The photo shows a professionally assembled and painted model.
