Historical background of the Lamborghini Countach LP400: The Lamborghini Countach LP400 is the first production model from the Countach series, produced from 1974 to 1978. It debuted at the Geneva Motor Show in 1974, where it immediately garnered 50 orders. Equipped with a 3,929 cm3 (3.9 L) engine generating 370 HP, the Countach LP400 was a true breakthrough in the field of sports cars.
Externally, the LP400 differed little from the second prototype, but several changes were made, such as a modified front panel and new horizontally divided side windows. This model featured the lowest drag coefficient among all Countach versions, thanks to its narrow Michelin XWX tires and smooth, wedge-shaped design.
The LP400 chassis was produced by Marchesi and then delivered to the Lamborghini factory in Sant'Agata, where the car was assembled and painted. The engine and transmission were also produced in Sant'Agata. Each engine underwent a five-hour test before being installed in the car. The production of the LP400 was overseen by Giancarlo Guerra, a former Scaglietti employee who closely collaborated with Paolo Stanzani. By the end of production in 1978, 157 units of the Countach LP400 had been produced.
Assembly and painting kit. Does not include paints or glue. Assembly requires separately sold modeling tools (including cutters, files, tweezers), paints, brushes, and plastic model glue (e.g. Tamiya Extra Thin Cement). The photo shows a professionally assembled and painted model.
