History and characteristics of the vehicle:
The Land Rover Series IIA is an improved version of the second generation of this famous British off-road vehicle. Produced from 1961 to 1971, this model became a symbol of durability and reliability. It was available in two wheelbase versions: short (88 inches) and long (109 inches). Our model depicts the short wheelbase version, which was particularly popular in the 1960s.
The Land Rover Series IIA gained immense popularity not only in the domestic market and Commonwealth countries but also in the Middle East and Africa. Its simple construction and reliability made it a favorite among users in challenging terrain conditions.
The presented model is a civilian version of a pick-up/tow truck from the mid-60s, which enjoyed a long lifespan. It features typical characteristics such as a simple front bumper, horizontally mounted side and turn signals, a side fuel filler, and a Harvey Frost crane. Owners often customized their vehicles to meet specific needs by adding various optional parts and equipment, making each specimen unique.
Assembly and painting kit. Does not include paints or glue. Assembly requires separately sold modeling tools (including cutters, files, tweezers), paints, brushes, and plastic model glue (e.g., Tamiya Extra Thin Cement). The photo shows a professionally assembled and painted model.
