Description
Plastic model aircraft kit: Lavochkin La-7 1:72 Smer 0899
A plastic model kit depicting the Soviet fighter aircraft from the World War II period - the Lavochkin La-7. The set prepared by Smer in 1:72 scale is a 2017 reissue, offering modelers the opportunity to build one of the most effective machines of the Soviet Air Force.
The Lavochkin La-7 was a development of the successful La-5FN design. Introduced into service in 1944, it was characterized by excellent performance at low and medium altitudes, which made it a formidable opponent for German fighters. The aircraft had a mixed construction with a predominance of wood, which was a response to the shortage of light metals in the USSR during the war. The La-7 was flown by, among others, Soviet aviation ace Ivan Kozhedub, who achieved his last aerial victories on this type of machine.
