History and use: The Leopard 2 A6 is the seventh version of the Leopard 2 tank family, introducing several significant improvements over previous models. The most noticeable change is the use of a new, longer Rheinmetall L/55 120 mm caliber gun barrel, allowing for the use of heavier and more modern ammunition, increasing muzzle velocity, range, and shot precision.

The Leopard 2 was developed by Krauss-Maffei in the 1970s and entered service in 1979, replacing the earlier Leopard 1 model as the main battle tank of the West German army. Since then, various versions of the Leopard 2 have been used by the armed forces of Germany and 13 other European countries, as well as by several countries outside Europe, such as Canada, Chile, Indonesia, and Singapore.

The Leopard 2 A6 is particularly known for its participation in peacekeeping operations in Kosovo in the 1990s, as well as in combat missions in Afghanistan, where it was used by Dutch, Danish, and Canadian forces.
