Lifecolor UA501 Luftwaffe Schwarzgrun RLM 70 22ml paint UA501

Lifecolor acrylic paint in the color Schwarzgrün (black-green), designated according to the RLM standard as 70. This is a matte model paint intended for brush and airbrush application.

Historical application:

The RLM 70 Schwarzgrün color was a key element of the two-tone camouflage of German Luftwaffe aircraft during World War II. It was introduced in February 1937 with the Messerschmitt Bf 109 B aircraft. The standard painting scheme for the upper surfaces called for the use of two dark green colors: RLM 70 and RLM 71 (Dunkelgrün), which contrasted with the light blue underside in RLM 65 color. Although the edges of the camouflage appear sharp, according to the specification, they should be applied as soft transitions.

Usage tips:

Thin with the dedicated Lifecolor Thinner or water to a milk-like consistency.
When airbrushing thin lines, it is recommended to use low pressure and add a retarder (available in the original thinner) to prevent the paint from drying on the needle.
It is advisable to apply several thin layers instead of one thick one.
Tools should be washed with water immediately after use.
Dried paint can be removed with trichloroethylene or a strong solvent.
