Historical background: The Long Range Desert Group (LRDG) was an elite British unit that played a key role in the North African campaign during World War II. It specialized in long-range reconnaissance, observing Axis troop movements, and raids on airfields and other strategic targets. The LRDG was known for its navigation and survival skills in harsh desert conditions, making it extremely effective in operations behind enemy lines.

Vehicles used by the LRDG, such as the Ford F30, were modified for specific operational needs. The Ford F30, with four-wheel drive and a powerful V8 engine, offered greater cargo space and better off-road capabilities compared to earlier Chevrolet models. Despite some drawbacks, such as increased noise and lower fuel efficiency, the Ford F30 was indispensable in LRDG operations.

Assembly and painting kit. Does not include paints or glue. Assembly requires separately sold modeling tools (including cutters, files, tweezers), paints, brushes, and plastic model glue (e.g., Tamiya Extra Thin Cement). The photo shows a professionally assembled and painted model.
