Historical description: The Long Range Desert Group (LRDG) was an elite British unit operating during World War II, specializing in long-range reconnaissance and raiding operations in the deserts of North Africa. Established in 1940, the LRDG consisted of volunteers who were well-trained to operate in extreme desert conditions. Their main tasks included gathering intelligence, conducting attacks on enemy rear positions, and supporting other Allied units.

This unit gained fame for its ability to survive in harsh conditions and its skill in rapidly moving over long distances. The LRDG utilized light off-road vehicles that were specially adapted for traversing desert terrains. This allowed them to effectively avoid detection by Axis forces and carry out surprise attacks.

Set for self-assembly and painting. Does not include paints or glue. For assembly, separately sold modeling tools are needed (including cutters, files, tweezers), paints, brushes, and plastic model glue (e.g. Tamiya Extra Thin Cement). The photo shows a professionally assembled and painted model.
