Luftwaffe Mid-War Paint Set (8x17ml) Hataka CS110

The Luftwaffe mid-war paint set is an excellent choice for modelers who wish to replicate the authentic camouflage schemes of Luftwaffe aircraft from 1941-1944. This set contains seven carefully selected colors that reflect the standard colors used by the German Air Force during this period. With this set, it is easy to recreate both day and night camouflage schemes that were applied to various types of aircraft.

Set Contents:

HTK-C313 Grey-Green (RLM74) and HTK-C007 Grey-Violet (RLM75):

Used from early 1941 to mid-1944 on the upper surfaces of Luftwaffe fighters in the RLM 74+75/76 scheme.
Gradually phased out in 1944.

HTK-C038 Light Blue (RLM76):

Used from early 1941 to mid-1944 on the lower and side surfaces of Luftwaffe fighters in the RLM 74+75/76 scheme.

HTK-C029 Light Blue (RLM65):

An additional color officially approved for use in Luftwaffe mid-war schemes, for shading/mixing colors or as a substitute for RLM 76.

HTK-C023 Grey (RLM02) and HTK-C015 Black-Green (RLM70):

RLM 02 used for shading on side/upper surfaces in the RLM 74+75/76 scheme, as well as an alternative color for the lower surfaces of night fighters in 1942-43.
RLM 70 is an early Luftwaffe color, used for irregular shading on side and upper surfaces in the RLM 74+75/76 scheme from early 1941.

HTK-C100 Black (RLM22):

Used on the lower surfaces of night fighters and bombers in 1940 (instead of RLM 65), and then as a general color in 1941-42.

HTK-C264 Light Grey (RLM77):

Used for tactical markings on night fighters in overall black camouflage. Likely also used on high-altitude fighters (e.g., Bf 109 G-6/AS).

Historical Background:

In 1941, the Luftwaffe introduced a new camouflage scheme RLM 74+75/76 for day fighters, which was widely used until its gradual phasing out in mid-1944. At the same time, night aircraft initially used the standard RLM 70+71/65 scheme, gradually replacing RLM 65 with black paint on the lower surfaces. In 1942, the RLM 74+75/76 scheme was introduced on night aircraft, which was later simplified to a combination of RLM 75 with shading based on RLM 76, with black lower surfaces on some machines.
