History and development of the vehicle: The M1296 ICVD is an upgraded version of the Stryker vehicle, developed in response to the demand for a more heavily armed vehicle capable of countering emerging threats on the battlefield. The first units were delivered in December 2017. This vehicle integrates a 30 mm XM813 Bushmaster II automatic cannon in a Kongsberg MCT-30 remotely operated turret, significantly increasing its firepower compared to the standard Stryker.

The M1296 ICVD is equipped with advanced camera systems that improve crew visibility in various conditions. The DVE-Wide system is a compact thermal camera that provides a 107-degree field of view. These cameras are distributed around the hull, allowing for a full 360-degree view, significantly enhancing the crew's situational awareness.

The M1296 ICVD was first introduced into service by the 2nd Cavalry Regiment of the U.S. Army in Europe in 2018. Its deployment aimed to strengthen the regiment's combat capabilities in response to emerging threats in the region.
