The M2 Bradley, also known as the Bradley IFV (Infantry Fighting Vehicle), is an American infantry fighting vehicle that is part of the Bradley family of combat vehicles. Manufactured by BAE Systems Land and Armaments, it entered service in 1981, with deployment starting in 1983. The M2 Bradley was designed for reconnaissance and the transport of a nine-member infantry squad, providing protection against small arms fire while enabling the squad to engage threats to friendly infantry.
