Plastic model depicting the American M3 Lee medium tank in the early version (Early). The M3 Lee, also known in British service as the Grant, was a key transitional design for the US Army during World War II, developed in response to the successes of German armored forces in Europe. The vehicle was characterized by an unusual armament layout with a main 75 mm gun mounted in a hull sponson and a smaller 37 mm gun in a rotating turret.

The Takom kit, catalog number 2085, is a modern miniature developed with attention to detail. The model allows for a faithful reproduction of the tank's silhouette from the 1941-1942 period, including the characteristic riveted armor.

Historical background:

The M3 Lee was created as a temporary solution before the introduction of the M4 Sherman tank. Although it had strong armament and solid armor, its high silhouette (over 3 meters) and limited traverse for the main gun were significant drawbacks on the modern battlefield. Nevertheless, it played an important role in the fighting in North Africa and was later used by the Red Army and on the Pacific War front. Serial production totaled about 6,300 units of all versions.
