Plastic military model for assembly: M4 Sherman Late "FAY" 1:35 Asuka 35-032
A plastic model depicting the American M4 Sherman medium tank in its late production version, bearing the name "FAY". The set, prepared by the renowned company Asuka (formerly Tasca), is characterized by high precision of execution and attention to historical details.
The M4 Sherman was the most important medium tank of the Allied armies during World War II. Mass-produced between 1942 and 1945, it became a symbol of American industrial power. Although originally designed as an infantry support vehicle, it had to face increasingly heavily armored German vehicles such as Panthers or Tigers. Late versions of the Sherman introduced numerous improvements, including changes in hull armor and improved ammunition storage systems, which significantly increased crew survivability on the battlefield.
Set characteristics:
- Precisely reproduced hull and turret of the M4 Sherman late version.
- High-quality tracks made of flexible material.
- Sheet of photo-etched parts to enhance detail realism.
- Decals for painting "FAY" from F Co., 66th Armored Regiment, 2nd US Armored Division (Normandy, June 1944).
- The set also includes a soldier figure.
- Additional accessories in the form of a Hedgerow Cutter.
This model allows for the construction of a faithful replica of a vehicle that took part in the Normandy operations, where Shermans equipped with special shields and cutters cut their way through dense hedgerows known as bocage.
Set for self-assembly and painting. Does not include paints or glue. To assemble, separately sold modeling tools are required (including nippers, files, tweezers), paints, brushes, and plastic model glue (e.g., Tamiya Extra Thin Cement). The photo shows a professionally assembled and painted model.
