Description
Plastic military model kit: M4A1 Sherman MID with early VVSS suspension 1:35 Asuka AS001
The M4 Sherman was an American medium tank from World War II that became one of the most recognizable armored vehicles of that conflict. The first prototypes were created in 1941, and mass production lasted from 1942 to 1945. A total of about 49,000 units of all versions were produced, making it the backbone of the armored forces of the Western Allied armies.
The M4A1 version was distinguished by its characteristic, cast hull with rounded shapes. The vehicle was powered by a 400 HP Continental R 975 C4 engine. The main armament was the 75 mm M3 cannon, supported by Browning machine guns. Although designed primarily as an infantry support vehicle, the Sherman had to face German Pz.Kpfw III and IV tanks, and later in the war, heavier Panthers and Tigers.
The model from Asuka (formerly Tasca) depicts the "Mid" production variant with the early type of VVSS (Vertical Volute Spring Suspension). Kits from this manufacturer are valued by modelers worldwide for their exceptional precision, historical fidelity, and excellent part fit.
