Description
Plastic model aircraft kit: Macchi MC.200 Saetta 1:32 Italeri 2516
A plastic model kit depicting the Italian fighter aircraft from World War II - Macchi MC.200 Saetta. This set is based on completely new moulds (100% New Moulds), which guarantees high manufacturing precision and richness of detail.
History of the original:
Macchi MC.200, designed by the outstanding engineer Mario Castoldi, represented a significant step forward in the production of Italian fighter aircraft. Compared to the Fiat CR.32 and CR.42 biplanes, which formed the backbone of the Italian air force at the beginning of the war, the MC.200 stood out with its cantilever low-wing design of all-metal construction. Powered by a 14-cylinder Fiat A.74 RC.38 radial engine with 840 HP, it reached speeds of up to 500 km/h. Although maneuverable and robust, it was inferior to Allied designs in terms of armament, which initially consisted only of two 12.7 mm Breda-SAFAT machine guns. These aircraft took part in combat in North Africa, the Mediterranean, the Balkans, and the Eastern Front.
Kit features:
- Fully detailed cockpit using 3D decals.
- Precisely reproduced radial engine and armament bay in the nose of the aircraft.
- Detailed landing gear with optional bay doors.
- Photo-etched (PE) parts for the engine, flaps, cockpit, and other structural details.
- Realistically reproduced panel lines and riveting.
- Movable ailerons and tail surfaces.
- Option to assemble flaps in open or closed position.
- Mask sheets for canopy glazing and wheels.
- Super decal sheet with markings for 6 different paint schemes.
