Description
A model kit from Zimi Model allowing the construction of the German tank destroyer Marder I (Sd.Kfz.135) along with a 50-ton SSy45 type railway flatcar (Schwerer Platformwagen). This is a comprehensive 2-in-1 set that enables the creation of an interesting diorama of railway transport from the Second World War period.
History of the original:
The Marder I (Sd.Kfz.135) was a German tank destroyer developed in 1942 to combat the new Soviet T-34 and KV-1 tanks. The design was based on the chassis of captured French Lorraine 37L artillery tractors. The vehicle was armed with a powerful 75 mm PaK 40 cannon, which allowed for effective engagement of targets from long distances. Although the armor was symbolic (up to 12 mm), its mobility and firepower meant that Marder Is served on the Eastern Front and later in France until the end of the war.
The SSy45 flatcar is a heavy, four-axle flatcar with a load capacity of 50 tons, commonly used by the Deutsche Reichsbahn for transporting armored vehicles, including tank destroyers and medium Panzerwaffe tanks.
Kit characteristics:
- Scale: 1:35
- Model of the Marder I tank destroyer on a Lorraine chassis
- Model of the heavy SSy45 railway flatcar
Kit for self-assembly and painting. Does not include paints or glue. For assembly, separately sold modeling tools (including nippers, files, tweezers), paints, brushes, and plastic model cement (e.g., Tamiya Extra Thin Cement) are required. The photo shows a professionally assembled and painted model.
