Historical Background:

The Westland Lysander was a unique British aircraft from the World War II era, designed for army cooperation and liaison duties. This machine became famous for its exceptional short takeoff and landing (STOL) capabilities, characteristic fixed landing gear in fairings, and a high-mounted wing. The Lysander gained legendary fame through secret missions involving the insertion and extraction of agents from occupied France. The Mk.I version entered service in 1938 with a Bristol Mercury XII engine, while the Mk.III, equipped with the more powerful Mercury XX or XXX unit, became the most numerous variant.
