Mazda RX-7 - historical background: The Mazda RX-7 is a sports car with a rotary engine, produced by the Japanese company Mazda from 1978 to 2002. This model went through three generations, each characterized by the use of a compact and lightweight Wankel engine. The first generation, known as SA (early) and FB (late), was a two-door coupé with a 12A rotary engine, and later also with an option of 13B with electronic fuel injection.
The second generation, designated as FC, offered both coupé and convertible versions, with a 13B engine in naturally aspirated or turbocharged versions. The third generation, FD, was available as a two-seater coupé with a 2+2 option in the Japanese market, equipped with a sequentially turbocharged 13B REW engine.
The Mazda RX-7 gained recognition for its performance and innovation, and over the years, more than 800,000 units of this model were produced. Its unique design and characteristic sound of the rotary engine made it an icon among sports cars.
