Description
Plastic model car to assemble: Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.3 16v in 1:24 scale
Launched in 1982, it marked a turning point in the production of the prestigious car manufacturer from Stuttgart. The "190" model was essentially the base version of Mercedes' product range, but it still included significant stylistic and technical innovations. The design, a perfect blend of style and elegance, would later influence higher segment cars in Mercedes' future production. From a technical standpoint, the car featured a longitudinally mounted front engine, rear-wheel drive, and disc brakes on all four wheels. The front suspension was of the MacPherson type and the rear was of the "multilink" type. The first produced versions were equipped with two gasoline engines with a displacement of 1,998 cm3 with a carburetor or, in the 190E version, with fuel injection. Soon after, the sporty 2.3 16V version was introduced, which was also used in one-make motorsport events, such as the "Nurburgring Champions Race Cup" in 1984, which featured well-known drivers from that era and some "old stars" of Formula 1.
Kit for self-assembly and painting. Does not include paints or glue. For assembly, separately sold modeling tools are needed (including cutters, files, tweezers), paints, brushes, and plastic model glue (e.g. Tamiya Extra Thin Cement). The photo shows a professionally assembled and painted model.
