About the Messerschmitt Bf 109E-3:

The Messerschmitt Bf 109 was one of the first high-speed monoplane fighters that appeared in the 1930s. The Bf 109E version, which entered production in 1938, was the first mass-produced German fighter. These aircraft participated in campaigns in Poland, Norway, and France from 1939 to 1940. During the Battle of Britain (August-October 1940), the Bf 109E-4 fighters entered service, which differed by having a new canopy with an armored glass. The Bf 109E-7/Trop version was equipped with special tropical equipment, allowing operations in difficult climatic conditions.

The Bf 109E also participated in air battles over the Balkans, in North Africa, and on the Eastern Front in 1941.
