Description
Plastic model airplane for assembly: Messerschmitt Bf 109F-4/B 1:48 ICM 48104
The Messerschmitt Bf 109F-4/B is a model representing the German fighter-bomber from World War II, which gained fame as one of the most recognizable aircraft of this conflict. The Bf 109F-4 version, introduced in June 1941, was equipped with a DB 601F engine, a 20 mm MG 151/20 cannon, and improved armor, making it more effective in combat. The Bf 109F-4/B modification allowed for carrying a bomb load of up to 250 kg, increasing its versatility on the battlefield.
In the spring of 1942, two squadrons from JG2 and JG26, armed with these aircraft, began raids on the English coast and attacks on British ships in the English Channel. The Bf 109F-4/B fighter-bombers were also used on the Eastern Front in battles against the USSR by units JG51 and JG54.
