Plastic model kit: Messerschmitt Me 262 A-1a 1:72 Smer 0864
The Messerschmitt Me 262 A-1a Schwalbe (German for swallow) is a breakthrough design in aviation history, being the world's first mass-produced and operationally used jet aircraft. This German, twin-engine, low-wing monoplane with a metal structure set new standards for speed and armament in the final period of World War II.
Work on the project designated P.1065 began as early as 1939. Although the airframe was ready for production by the end of 1942, numerous problems with the Junkers Jumo 004 powerplants and political decisions delayed its entry into service until 1944. The Me 262 technologically surpassed Allied machines, reaching a speed of 900 km/h and possessing formidable firepower in the form of four 30 mm MK 108 cannons.
The Smer model kit in 1:72 scale allows for the construction of a miniature of this legendary fighter in the A-1a version. The model includes decals enabling the creation of the aircraft in historical Luftwaffe markings from May 1945.
Contents of the model kit:
- Sprues made of light grey plastic
- Clear parts (cockpit canopy)
- Decal sheet with markings
- Assembly instructions

For assembly, separately sold modeling tools (including nippers, files, tweezers), paints, brushes, and plastic model cement (e.g., Tamiya Extra Thin Cement) are required. The photo shows a professionally assembled and painted model.
