History of the original:
Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-15 is a Soviet, single-engine jet fighter of all-metal construction with characteristic swept wings. In NATO code, it received the designation Fagot. The prototype took to the air in December 1947, and the machine entered front-line service in 1949. The MiG-15 became a mass-produced design – over 18,000 units of all versions were produced in the USSR and under license (including in Poland as Lim-1 and Lim-2). The aircraft gained legendary status during the Korean War (1950-1953), where it initially dominated Western designs until the appearance of the American F-86 Sabre. It also participated in the Suez Crisis and conflicts in the Middle East.
