History of MiG-21: The MiG-21 is a lightweight fighter that combined the features of a fighter aircraft and an interceptor. With the use of delta wings, the MiG-21 was able to achieve a speed of Mach 2, making it comparable to the American F-104 Starfighter or the French Mirage III. This aircraft was produced under license in Czechoslovakia and India, and its Chinese copy was designated J-7.
The MiG-21 was used by 34 countries, including the Warsaw Pact states, as well as countries like Afghanistan, Egypt, India, Vietnam, and North Korea. The MiG-21bis version represented by the model is the fourth generation of this aircraft. Introduced into production in 1975, this version was equipped with the R-25-300 engine, which significantly improved performance at low altitudes, as well as modern weaponry and navigation systems.
Development and modifications: The MiG-21 underwent many modifications and improvements over the years. Experimental and production versions were tested and developed to meet changing combat requirements. The MiG-21bis version was particularly valued for its air combat capabilities at low altitudes and short distances. In later years, these aircraft were modernized in India and Romania, allowing for their continued use for many years.
