Plastic model kit for assembly: MiG-25 PD 1:48 ICM 48903
The Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-25 (NATO reporting name: Foxbat) is a legendary Soviet supersonic interceptor fighter and reconnaissance aircraft that became a symbol of the Cold War air rivalry. Designed at the Mikoyan design bureau in the late 1960s, it was the world's first fighter capable of reaching speeds of Mach 3. The main impetus for its creation was the need to counter high-altitude American strategic bombers and supersonic reconnaissance aircraft.
The MiG-25 PD version, which is the subject of this model, is a modernized variant produced since 1978. It was equipped with improved avionics, including the Saphir-25 radar, and more modern missile armament. Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, it formed the backbone of the USSR's air defense. These machines took part in numerous local conflicts, serving in the air forces of Iraq, Syria, and Libya.
