History and use of Mi-2:

The Mi-2 helicopter, known by NATO code as "Hoplite," was designed by the Soviet design bureau of Mikhail Mil as a successor to the Mi-1. Interestingly, the Mi-2 was the only Soviet-designed helicopter that was never produced in series in the USSR. The production of this model took place exclusively in Poland, at the WSK Świdnik plant, where from 1965 to 1993 nearly 5500 units were produced in various versions.

The Mi-2 was used in many countries around the world for both civil and military purposes. In Poland, this helicopter was used by the Polish People's Army, as well as by police and border guard services. Its versatility made it applicable in various fields, from passenger transport to rescue operations and combat actions.

Design features:

The Mi-2 is a twin-engine helicopter with a three-blade main rotor and a two-blade tail rotor. The fuselage is made of metal, which ensures durability and resistance to damage. The helicopter has a fixed wheeled landing gear that can be equipped with skis, facilitating takeoff and landing on snow or soft ground.

The Mi-2 cockpit is shared by the crew and passengers, which is characteristic of this model. Under the passenger seat, there is a main fuel tank with a capacity of 600 liters.
