Plastic aircraft model kit: Mitsubishi F1M2 Type Zero Observation Seaplane (Pete) Model 11 'Battleship Yamato' 1:48 Hasegawa 07563
Plastic model kit of the Japanese observation seaplane Mitsubishi F1M2 Type Zero, known by the Allied code name "Pete". This limited edition from Hasegawa allows you to build a miniature of the machine stationed on the deck of the legendary battleship Yamato.
The Mitsubishi F1M2 was one of the most successful seaplanes of the Imperial Japanese Navy during World War II. Although designed primarily for observation tasks and correcting battleship artillery fire, thanks to its exceptional maneuverability and solid construction, the Pete was also successfully used as an interceptor fighter, anti-submarine aircraft, and attack aircraft.
Kit features:- Scale: 1:48
- The model represents the Model 11 version with later part modifications.
- The set includes new decal sheets with markings for units operating from the battleship Yamato.
- Plastic parts made of light gray and transparent material.
- Detailed cockpit and float construction.
The F1M2 entered service in 1941. It was an all-metal biplane powered by a Mitsubishi Zuisei radial engine. Its versatility meant it served on almost all fronts of the Pacific War. The units stationed on the battleship Yamato were a key element of the ship's reconnaissance and defense system, providing additional support in detecting targets beyond the horizon.
Kit for self-assembly and painting. Does not include paints or glue. To assemble, you need separately sold modeling tools (e.g., nippers, files, tweezers), paints, brushes and plastic model glue (e.g., Tamiya Extra Thin Cement). The photo shows a professionally assembled and painted model.
