Description
Modern RN Fleet Air Arm paint set vol. 1 6x17ml Hataka BS113
Acrylic paint set from the Blue Line series, optimized for brush painting, containing standard colors used on British Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm aircraft since the end of World War II.
After 1945, the Fleet Air Arm adopted a standard camouflage scheme consisting of Extra Dark Sea Grey on the upper surfaces and Sky on the lower ones, used on both propeller-driven aircraft and the first jets. By the late 1950s, the Sky color was replaced by white (White), which became the standard for classic strike jets such as the F-4K Phantom FG.1 and Buccaneer S.2. In 1982, during the Falklands conflict, the Sea Harrier scheme was modified, introducing Medium Sea Grey and Barley Grey colors, ultimately transitioning to a solid Dark Sea Grey paint, and from 1995 to Medium Sea Grey.
The set includes 6 bottles of 17ml:
- HTK-B140 BS Extra Dark Sea Grey (BS381C:640) - standard color for upper surfaces from post-war to the early 1980s.
- HTK-B026 BS Sky (BS381C:210) - color for lower surfaces until the late 1950s (including Sea Fury, Sea Vampire, Gannet, Sea Hawk).
- HTK-B322 RAF Anti-Flash White - color for lower surfaces from the late 1950s to the early 1980s (including Phantom FG.1, Buccaneer S.2).
- HTK-B141 BS Medium Sea Grey (BS381C:637) - color for upper surfaces of Sea Harriers (1982) and general color from 1995.
- HTK-B142 Camouflage (Barley) Grey (BS381C:626) - color for lower surfaces of wings and tail of Sea Harriers during the Falklands War.
- HTK-B144 BS Dark Sea Grey (BS381C:638) - final general color for Sea Harriers FRS.1 (1983-1995) and initial for the FA.2 version.
Hataka Blue Line paints are water-soluble, non-toxic, and odorless. The formula has been developed to minimize brush marks on the model surface.
