Description
Modern RN Fleet Air Arm Paint Set Vol. 1 6x17ml Hataka HTK-AS113
Acrylic paint set from the Red Line series, optimized for airbrush application, containing standard colors of the British Fleet Air Arm used since 1945.
Since the end of World War II, the British carrier aviation adopted the distinctive camouflage scheme of Extra Dark Sea Grey on the upper surfaces and Sky on the lower ones, used on both propeller aircraft (e.g., Fairey Gannet) and the first jets. By the late 1950s, the Sky color was replaced by white (Anti-Flash White), which became standard for aircraft such as the F-4K Phantom FG.1 and Buccaneer S.2. During the Falklands conflict in 1982, new schemes based on shades of Medium Sea Grey and Barley Grey were introduced, eventually transitioning to solid grey painting.
The set includes 6 bottles of 17ml each:- HTK-A140 BS Extra Dark Sea Grey (BS381C:640) - standard color for upper surfaces of post-war FAA aircraft until the early 1980s.
- HTK-A026 BS Sky (BS381C:210) - color for lower surfaces used until the late 1950s (including Sea Fury, Sea Vampire, Gannet, Sea Hawk).
- HTK-A322 RAF Anti-Flash White - color for lower surfaces from the late 1950s to the early 1980s (including Phantom FG.1, Buccaneer S.2).
- HTK-A141 BS Medium Sea Grey (BS381C:637) - color for upper surfaces of Sea Harrier FRS.1 during the Falklands War and general color from 1995 onwards.
- HTK-A142 Camouflage (Barley) Grey (BS381C:626) - color for lower surfaces of the wings and tail of Sea Harrier FRS.1 in 1982.
- HTK-A144 BS Dark Sea Grey (BS381C:638) - final overall color for Sea Harrier FRS.1 (1983-1995) and initial for the FA.2 version.
