Modern Royal Air Force Paint Set Vol. 3 8x17ml Hataka BS70

Acrylic paint set from the Blue Line series, optimized for brush painting, containing standard colors used on British Royal Air Force (RAF) training aircraft since the 1950s.

In the 1950s, most RAF training aircraft had a silver paint scheme with yellow identification stripes. In the 1960s, the yellow elements were replaced with a bright orange color (day-glo). From 1967, silver was replaced by Light Aircraft Grey, and in the early 1970s, the famous three-color scheme (white, grey, and red) was introduced. Further modifications occurred in the 1990s, leading to the introduction of a solid black paint scheme for most trainer types in 1998.

The set includes 8 bottles of 17ml:

• HTK-B003 Silver - known as "High Speed Silver", the basic color for trainers until 1966.
• HTK-B194 Luminous Orange - "Day-Glo Orange" used for high visibility markings.
• HTK-B217 BS Light Aircraft Grey - BS381C:627, the base color after 1966 and the wing color in the three-color scheme.
• HTK-B101 Traffic White - RAL 9016, used on the upper surfaces of the fuselage and tail in the three-color scheme.
• HTK-B276 BS Signal Red - BS381C:537, used on the lower parts of the fuselage and wing tips.
• HTK-B277 BS Roundel Blue - BS381C:110, the color of the back and tail in the modified scheme after 1990.
• HTK-B100 Jet Black / Night - BS381C:642, the overall color of training aircraft (e.g., Hawk, Tucano) after 1998.
• HTK-B275 BS Golden Yellow - BS381C:356, the color of training stripes in the 1950s and engine covers of helicopters after 1998.
