Description
Modern Royal Air Force Paint Set Vol. 5 8x17ml Hataka HTK-BS97
Acrylic paint set from the Blue Line series, optimized for brush painting, containing standard colors of British strategic bombers of the "V" type (V-bombers) used by the Royal Air Force since the 1950s.
From the early 1950s until the end of the Cold War, the RAF operated a fleet of strategic bombers capable of carrying nuclear weapons over long distances. The famous "V-bombers" included the Vickers Valiant, Handley Page Victor, and Avro Vulcan. Initially, these aircraft were painted in natural aluminum, which was replaced in 1957 with a special "anti-flash white" paint designed to protect the crew from the thermal radiation of a nuclear explosion. The change in tactics to low-level flights in 1964 necessitated the introduction of camouflage across the entire fleet of bombers.
Contents of the set:
- HTK-B003 Silver - color of early machines and Vickers Valiant during the Suez Crisis.
- HTK-B322 RAF Anti-Flash White - standard color of the nuclear fleet since 1957.
