About the model: The Moskvitch 401-420A is a faithful replica of the Soviet passenger car produced from 1946 to 1956 by the Moscow Small Car Factory (MZMA). This model is particularly interesting due to its history, as it was a direct copy of the German Opel Kadett K38, a result of Stalin's decision after World War II.
Historical background: The Moskvitch 401-420A was one of the first cars available to the general public in the USSR. Its production began in 1946, and the car quickly became a symbol of Soviet automotive industry. It was a vehicle adapted to the harsh road conditions of the USSR, with a high ground clearance and sturdy suspension. The 401-420A version was powered by an improved M-401 engine with an output of 26 HP, allowing it to reach a maximum speed of up to 90 km/h.
The basic model 400-420 was produced from 1946 to 1954, and its successor was the 401-420 model produced until 1956. The convertible version 400-420A was produced from 1949 to 1952, with a total production of 17,742 units. These cars were exported to many countries, including Finland, Poland, and China, which attests to their popularity and versatility.
