Description
Plastic aircraft model for assembly: Nakajima J1N1-S Gekko Late 1:72 Hobby 2000 72085
A plastic model depicting the Japanese night fighter from the WWII era - Nakajima J1N1-S Gekko (Allied code name "Irving") in the late production version. The set has been prepared by Hobby 2000 based on high-quality sprues from Hasegawa, which guarantees precise detail reproduction and good fit of the parts.
The Nakajima J1N1-S Gekko was a unique design in the arsenal of the Imperial Japanese Navy. Originally designed as a long-range escort fighter, it ultimately found its purpose as an effective night fighter. A key element of its armament was 20 mm cannons mounted at an angle in the fuselage (Schräge Musik system), which allowed it to attack Allied B-29 bombers from below, remaining in their blind spot.
The set with catalog number 72085 includes new decals printed by the renowned company Cartograf and masks for painting the canopy and wheels, which significantly facilitates finishing work.
Available painting schemes:
- 131 Kokutai, 131-61 - September 1944, Katori base
- 302 Kokutai, YoD-176 - August 1945, Atsugi base
- 322 Kokutai, 804 Hikotai, 22-25 - June 1944, Katori base
- 352 Kokutai, 3-52-213 - December 1944, Omura base
Main features of the model:
- Scale: 1:72
- High-quality Hasegawa sprues
- Cartograf decals
- Masks for painting the cockpit and wheels included
- Detailed reproduction of the late version of the Gekko
Set for self-assembly and painting. Does not include paints or glue. For assembly, separately sold modeling tools are required (including nippers, files, tweezers), paints, brushes and plastic model glue (e.g., Tamiya Extra Thin Cement). The photo shows a professionally assembled and painted model.
