History of the original:
The Curtiss P-40 Warhawk was one of the most important American fighters of the first half of the war. The N version, also known by the British name Kittyhawk IV, was an attempt to lighten the structure to improve performance. Changes included redesigning the rear fuselage and canopy, which significantly improved rear visibility. These aircraft served on almost all fronts, from the deserts of North Africa, through the freezing Russia, to the jungles of the Pacific and China, where they became a symbol of the Flying Tigers unit.
