The Peugeot 205 GTI is the sporty version of the popular 205 model, produced by the French manufacturer Peugeot from 1983 to 1998. The GTI model debuted in 1984, quickly gaining recognition as one of the best hot hatches of its time. Equipped with a 1.9-liter engine, it generated 128 hp (94 kW), allowing it to reach a top speed of around 200 km/h with a weight of just 921 kg.

The styling of the 205 GTI was the work of Peugeot's design department, La Garenne, under the direction of Gérard Welter. The car stood out from other 205 models thanks to larger aluminum wheels, flared wheel arches, and distinctive red decorative stripes. After the Peugeot 205 Turbo 16 won the World Rally Championship in 1985, the 205 GTI became a true object of desire.
