Description
The Piper L4 Cub, also known by the nickname Grasshopper, is one of the most recognizable American light transport and observation aircraft from World War II. This design originates from the civilian E-2 model, which first flew in September 1930. Thanks to its simple, mixed construction with fixed landing gear and excellent flight characteristics, the machine became an indispensable part of the American army's equipment.
The L4 version was adapted for USAF needs in 1941. These aircraft were widely used on almost all fronts of the war - from North Africa, through Italy, to the Normandy landings. They served mainly as liaison aircraft and for battlefield observation and artillery fire correction. A total of about 20,000 units of all versions of this aircraft were produced.
Contents of the model kit:
- Sprues made of grey plastic
- Transparent parts (cockpit glazing)
- Decal sheet with markings
- Assembly instructions
