History of the Polish Fiat 621L: The Polish Fiat 621L was the result of a licensing agreement signed on September 21, 1931, between the Italian Fiat and the Polish State Engineering Works (PZInż.). The production of the 2.5-ton truck began in 1935. Initially, assembly was done with Italian parts, but over time, Polish factories began to produce most components, allowing for independence from imports.

The 621L model was known for its simple construction and great durability, making it a popular choice for both military and civilian applications. In response to the specific needs of the Polish market, a number of modifications were introduced at the PZInż. Design Office, including reinforcement of the chassis, increased wheelbase, and the use of a more efficient Solex carburetor.

Variants and applications: The Polish Fiat 621L was produced in many body variants, making it an extremely versatile vehicle. Military versions were equipped with wooden-steel driver cabins and wooden cargo boxes. For civilian customers, mainly chassis were delivered, which were later bodied in private workshops.

Among the numerous variants were sanitary, fire-fighting, civilian versions, as well as specialized military vehicles such as command vehicles with radio stations, field workshops, or tractor units with trailers. The 621L chassis were also equipped with self-propelled 75 mm wz. 14 anti-aircraft guns.

Historical significance: Between 1935 and 1939, about 13 thousand chassis of the 621L and R models were produced, most of which were lighter trucks. The Polish Fiat 621L played a key role in the development of the Polish automotive industry and was widely used by both the military and in civilian transport.

Today, unique examples of the Polish Fiat 621L can be admired in museums such as the Museum of Technology in Warsaw or the Firefighting Museum in Mysłowice. In 2013, the Wronki Historical Association "Historica" presented a replica of this vehicle.
